Eligibility and Criteria for Continuing Award
To be eligible for a Weller grant, students must:
- graduate from an approved school district within the Nebraska counties of Holt, Boyd, Brown, Rock, Keya Paha and Garfield, and Gregory County in South Dakota (graduates of South Central High only.) The Foundation will consider applicants who have been home schooled in one of the counties listed above. Applicants must be current residents of the seven-county area. Exceptions may be given to those who gave up residency for full-time college or military service.

- not have received a Bachelor’s Degree from any institution.
Students are awarded scholarships annually with disbursements made at the beginning of each semester pending continued eligibility. Applicants no longer need to reapply annually—this scholarship is now awarded for two years, provided all eligibility criteria continue to be met and maintained. No student will receive more than two annual scholarship awards with the exception of a person in an approved nursing program.
Criteria for continuing award, student must:
- pass a minimum of 9 credit hours per quarter/semester
- have a C or 2.0 accumulative grade point average in order to receive the second half of the grant award.
